Void Detection
AI-powered thermal inspection detects hidden defects in drywall during manufacturing, ensuring quality and reducing waste.
Void Detection
During gypsum board production, defects such as voids and lumps (appearing as hot spots and cold spots) can form. Left undetected, they affect the board’s overall quality.
Eigen’s AI vision system detects these defects in-line before boards enter the cutter and dryer—saving energy, reducing waste, and minimizing the risk of faulty products leaving the plant.
Using thermal cameras and AI, it identifies temperature variations across any board width or thickness at speeds from 150 to 620 fpm. Results are consolidated in the OneView Cloud platform which displays defect size, location, and count trends for operators to access. Configurable warning/critical alarms are also available at the edge, which can be used with your PLC to trigger light stacks or audible alerts for corrective action.
Insights can be filtered by product type to help crews address issues quickly and maintain consistent quality.
What OneView Delivers
OneView for drywall inspection detects defects before the dryer, preventing defective boards from entering one of the most energy-intensive production stages. Using in-line thermal cameras that span the full sheet width, it provides immediate board-health feedback and identifies multiple defect types, including hot spots, cold spots, and voids.
The system triggers severity-based alerts, offering trend insights that help operators fine-tune recipes and maintain consistent quality. It also adapts seamlessly to different product types, handling variations in thickness, width, and material without requiring manual configuration, while still enabling tailored analysis and reporting.
Defects
Voids, Cracking, Surface Imperfections, Delamination, Cracks, Moisture-related issues.
